We begin in Terezín, which was used by the Nazis as a Jewish ghetto, transit camp and propaganda tool. Behind its walls, thousands of Jewish prisoners lived in overcrowded conditions while the outside world was shown a carefully staged illusion.
We’ll visit the former ghetto, museum and memorial sites, as well as the Small Fortress — the former Gestapo prison where political prisoners, resistance fighters and ordinary civilians were interrogated and imprisoned.
